Here we are again on the road to Christmas.
There are five new Christmas card designs ready to go! And there are a couple of old favourites too. I’d love to support you introducing a friend to the One behind Christmas. My year has been spent working on the Psalms, and I now have a mockup of text and visual concepts up to the end of Book 4 (Psalm 106) and some lovely photos of Tasmania and the Red Centre to inform them. Next year the paintings! First few pages (draft 5!)
Twee, but… Last year, I entered the second annual Book illumination award competition, run by American book marketing company Jenkins Group, ‘honouring the best Christian-themed books published during the year’ and written in English. Recently, John illuminated was awarded gold in the category keepsake/gift/specialty; and The Scrolls illuminated the gold medal for ‘enduring light–Christian thought’ for an earlier publication than 2014.
Jenkins explains, With the motto, ‘Shining a Light on Exemplary Christian Books’, the Illumination Book Awards are intended to honour the best books published during the past year with a Christian worldview. The diverse topics and styles of the 2015 medal-winning books reflect the diversity of Christianity today. The 77 winning books came from 28 different US States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and France. How about that? Coming up to Christmas, why not have a look what I’ve done this year (and before)?
Books: Both John illuminated and The Scrolls illuminated present the God we celebrate at Christmas.
Cards: I have added new cards for 2014 to the collection, which present Jesus’ coming in a thought-provoking and unexpected way. And there are some old favourites back in stock.
